YP58 XDF
Red Citroen C1
Just like hundreds of other vehicles found in Hollingdean, this Citroen does not belong to a local resident.
Instead, it belongs to a resident living in one of the adjoining parking zones in Fiveways.
The owner has opted to use Hollingdean to store their vehicle rather than obtain a permit for the area in which they live, restricting and removing valuable space for local residents.
Much like LC03 FYJ, this vehicle does not move for extremely long periods of time, first being reported by residents during our survey in February 2023, where it was parked on Hollingbury Crescent.
It did not move from this spot the the following ten months, finally being taken away in January, only to appear the next day, now in a different position on Hollingbury Crescent (parked extremely poorly between spaces, blocking two). Again, it did not move until July, at which point it was driven away for less than an hour before returning to a spot further down the street.
History suggests that it will - again - not for several more months now.
The MOT history for this car shows that in recent years it has travelled less than 600 miles each year. The entire rest of the time it is sat here in Hollingdean, unmoved, unloved, and gradually rotting away whilst blocking access for the people who actually live here.
This selfish use of our roads only adds more pressure to the already very congested corner of Hollingdean up against Fiveways, whilst the owner should be using suitable permits for the area they either live in or are visiting.
