SF12 LUR
White Peugeot Partner
An ex-Brighton and Hove registered taxi.
It is extremely common to find non-resident-driven taxis parked in Hollingdean. Drivers often park their taxis here late at night and drive away in another vehicle, using the 'free' area near the town to store their taxis when not in use.
Residents have reported dozens of taxis doing exactly this, often not moving at all from one weekend to the next.
SF12 LUR was abandoned in Hollingdean altogether, with its registration details and radio equipment removed.
It was left on Hollingdean Terrace in early2022 and subsequently did not move for several months, gradually accumulating damage and four flat tyres.
Residents report that when this vehicle eventually moved, having spent up to six months dumped on Hollingdean Terrace, LFZ 4240 (another taxi recognised as being stored in Hollinugdean by its non-resident owners) was one of the six other taxi vehicles that congregated to swap parking spaces and jump-start SF12 LUR.
Residents submitted several photographs of this, and report it took several hours to get this abandoned vehicle started and driven away.
