LO16 YVC
Silver Smart ForFour
Residents report that LO16 YVC began to appear in Hollingdean in the latter half of 2025, following a familiar non-resident pattern: the car is left parked for days at a time, always parked as close as the driver can possibly manage to Fiveways, where the driver is then seen walking away on foot.
This adds yet more pressure to an already-saturated corner of Hollingbury where there are quite literally hundreds of other non-residents attempting the same every day, bearing the brunt of displacement from Fiveways and neighbouring permit zones.
Long-stay non-residents such as this parking here make an already difficult situation worse.
This behaviour reflects a wider pattern seen across Hollingdean: nearby residents choose to avoid the cost or inconvenience of obtaining permits for their own streets, and instead dump their vehicles just outside controlled zones here in Hollingdean.
The result is predictable: fewer available spaces for actual Hollingdean residents, more circulating traffic, more noise, pollution and congestion, all because these owners are too selfish to take responsibility for their own vehicles, in the areas that they actually live.
