LK63 EYA
Black Nissan Qashai
This a black Nissan Qashqai has become a regular fixture on Upper Hollingdean Road, always parked as close as possible to the Rugby Road end of Hollingdean, much to the dismay of local residents.
LK63 EYA still displays a resident parking permit in the windscreen for Zone J (Fiveways), expired on 22 June 2024. Since that date, the vehicle has not returned to its own area and has instead been kept here continuously; yet another clear case of a non-resident shifting their vehicle into Hollingdean to avoid renewing their permit.
This is yet another example of how neighbouring residents routinely use Hollingdean as a 'free' overflow zone. Rather than taking responsibility for their own parking arrangements, the owner has opted to let their permit lapse and instead dump their car here indefinitely, adding to the strain on an area already struggling with displacement and daily parking pressure.
The Ditchling Road/Rugby Road end of Upper Hollingdean Road is already one of the more contested stretches for parking, especially because of its proximity to Zone J. Vehicles like LK63 EYA only worsen the problem, occupying long-term space that should be available for actual residents of Hollingdean, for no other reason than sheer selfishness on the part of the owner.
