GJ06 JUE
Green Mini Cooper
GJ06 JUE is a green Mini Cooper, in a very poor state of repair and rarely used.
The owner does not live in Hollingdean, but has been seen parking and then walking away towards Fiveways, presumedly either to the bus or to their home in one of the adjoining parking zones.
This particular vehicle has been reported by our residents on several occasions. It is recognised as parking extremely poorly, often left for several weeks or months at a time. Our survey raised a number of concerns over fluids seemingly leaking from beneath the car and onto the street.
As with the hundreds of other vehicles that are left in Hollingdean in this manner, this Mini has no business being kept here outside of the owner's apparent inability to obtain a permit for it, for the area in which they live.
This is another non-resident vehicle well-recognised for damaging other parked cars whilst attempting to park. This is particularly upsetting for local residents who cannot park near their homes specifically because of cars like this using their street. When the resident is able to park near their home, these same non-residents then cause damage to their vehicles by crashing into them whilst attempting to park themselves.
This misuse of Hollingdean continues to add to the significant congestion, noise, traffic, and parking issues that residents face.
In particular, as with this Mini and many other vehicles, they park in the corner of Hollingdean as close as they can manage to Fiveways, where these drivers perfer to park if at all possible, simply because it is closest to their own homes.
Residents on Hollingbury Crescent, for example, report that there are times when there isn't a single resident car parked on the street at all, as all spaces are taken up by non-residential cars such as this one.
