Hollingdean Parking

Y13 NCE

White Vauxhall Vivaro

  • In 2020, a local construction firm (Peacok & Sons) undertook the refurbishment of an HMO in Hollingdean.

  • Residents report that for several months whilst this work was undertaken, the construction firm parked their vehicles in progressively more aggressive and dangerous manners.

  • Y13 NCE is one of several vehicles that were involved, belonging to the firm. They parked on the pavement, across double yellows, and into a junction. Often managing to do all three with a single vehicle, as seen in the photographs below.

  • One of their team also made a point of parking their motorcycle on the junction itself each day, sticking out into the road, on the double-yellow lines.

  • The council responded quickly when residents reported this. According to residents, they were often told that the council was receiving more calls about this particular firm than any other parking in the city that day.

  • Each time an enforcement officer came to speak with the builders, they would drive the vehicle away, only to park it right back where it was again as soon as the parking officer was gone.
