Silver Toyota Yaris
The owners of this Toyota are residents of Hollingbury Road, in controlled zone G.
Despite living in an area with residential parking permits, the owners instead use Hollingdean to park their vehicle, and have been doing for the past several years.
As with many other vehicles, the owner of this Yaris makes a point of parking themselves as close as they are able to their own home. This adds yet more undue pressure to an area of Hollingdean that is already extremely cramped and busy.
This selfish use of our roads not only reduces the amount of (very scarce) parking space available for Hollingdean residents, but it also means that those same residents are left to deal with the increased noise, pollution, and congestion caused by individuals using their streets as a free car park.
The owners could simply purchase a permit for their vehicle and park it on their own street (where there is plenty of free parking). Instead, they choose to impose themselves and their vehicle on Hollingdean residents.
What makes this even worse for the local residents is that the vehicles most often left here by non-residents are the older, more polluting, unloved examples. This Yaris is a good example of that. Not only has the owner not bothered to obtain a permit for it, but they have also allowed the MOT to expire by several months, but drive it and leave it in its unroadworthy condition on our streets nevertheless.
