T483 VHT
Silver Toyota Yaris
Another known non-resident vehicle, displaying an expired resident permit from Zone M.
It is fair to assume that the owner has opted to use Hollingdean for 'free' parking rather than renew their permit.
Residents report that this vehicle often does not move for significant periods and has been reported to park extremely inconsiderately.
Two reports were received that this vehicle has been seen hitting other parked vehicles whilst attempting to squeeze into spaces too small for the car.
Three reports that this car is left with literal millimetres of space between it and other cars - often attempting to place themselves on the end of rows of cars where there simply is not room, subsequently being left overlapping double yellow or driveway-restricted areas.
The driver appears to prefer to park as closely as they can to transport links back to their home, adding additional congestion and parking pressure to a corner of Hollingdean already suffering due to their proximity to Fiveways.
Since mid-2023 (and soon after the permit displayed in the windscreen expired), this vehicle did not move at all, left partially over a driveway for the following six months without moving once.
Over Christmas of 2023, it was noted that the vehicle had in fact, been moved, although only for a single day. It has since been returned to Stanmer Park Road instead and has not moved since. If history is to repeat itself, it is unlikely to move again for several months, blocking access to parking for local residents and their visitors.
