Black Volkswagen Fox

  • T13 ROK is a scruffy, base-specification, modified Volkswagen Fox that residents believe belongs to a student living outside of the area.

  • It is one of those vehicles that appears at the start of every term and then simply sits in Hollingdean for most of the semester, barely moving at all.

  • Rather than being used as a normal day-to-day car, it is effectively stored here long-term, taking up space week after week while its owner lives elsewhere.

  • Residents have noted that it can remain in the same position for extended periods, only shifting occasionally before being left again.

  • This is a familiar and frustrating pattern in Hollingdean. Students bring cars to Brighton, move into accommodation in other parts of the city, and then dump their vehicles here because it is unrestricted and close enough to walk back to the permit zones.

  • The result is months of lost parking for residents, increased congestion, and yet another reminder that Hollingdean is treated as a convenient storage yard by people who have no connection to the neighbourhood and no interest in the impact they leave behind.
