SL09 WUB
Black Alfa Romeo Brera
Residents report that SL09 WUB is owned by a resident in the adjoining controlled parking zone (Zone G).
This can be verified using Google Maps Street View, where for several years this vehicle has had a valid residents permit for the area in which the owner lives, and has been parked at the owner's residence.
The vehicle now displays an expired resident permit in the windscreen.
The owner has not moved house but appears to have opted to use Hollingdean to park and store their vehicle full-time rather than renew their own resident permit further.
This Alfa Romeo has been reported as using Hollingdean for free parking since July 2022.
This means their vehicle uses up some of the little available space for residents of Hollingdean, particularly in the congested area around Hollingbury Crescent and Stanmer Park Road: closest to the owner's actual residence in Zone G.
Feedback suggests that although the vehicle is moved reasonably regularly, it is often also inconsiderately parked.
Photographs provided show the vehicle left partially overlapping a local driveway, blocking a disabled space, and often parked either on the pavement or a significant distance away from the pavement, causing bottlenecks.
Residents also report that the same owner is believed to own BG54 JHU - an extremely large commercial vehicle which is similarly kept in Hollingdean instead of at the owner's address on Hollingbury Road.
This shift of vehicles from Zone G, and particularly Hollingbury Road, into Hollingdean, leads to a thoroughly unreasonable situation where Hollingdean residents are unable to park on their streets because they are filled with cars like this one - from Hollingbury Road. Consequently, Hollingdean residents are left with little choice but to park themselves in Zone G (where there is always plenty of free space), risking a parking ticket due to not having a permit.
