Hollingdean Parking

OV20 KKX

Silver BMW X1

  • OV20 KKX is a small silver that appears in Hollingdean occasionally during the summer months, typically for a day at a time. It does not belong to a resident, nor is it linked to anyone living in the area.

  • It is believed that this vehicle belongs to visiting tourists, who leave it parked on the streets of Hollingdean for the day while they head into the city. This is a growing trend, particularly during the summer months, where drivers looking to avoid the cost of city-centre parking, or the hassle of Brighton’s controlled zones, instead choose to leave their cars in residential streets like ours for the duration of their visit.

  • Although only seen periodically, OV20 KKX is a prime example of how even occasional visitors contribute to the daily strain on parking in Hollingdean. Residents already face pressure from commuters, permit zone overflow, and long-term vehicle dumping. Tourist parking simply adds to the problem.

  • Hollingdean should not be used as a park-and-ride for day-trippers. Vehicles like this take up space that should be available for residents, and do nothing but add congestion, noise, and disruption to the area.
