MT60 CPE
White Nissan NV200
MT60 CPE is a white Nissan van that appears to have been quietly dumped into Hollingdean at the start of 2025. Since arriving, it has moved only a handful of times - perhaps four at most - spending the rest of the time occupying space that should be available for residents.
As with so many other non-resident vehicles, it is parked as close as possible to the junction with Hollingbury Road, suggesting the owner lives just up the hill in the neighbouring controlled parking zone. Rather than purchasing a permit for their own address, the owner appears to use Hollingdean as a long-term storage site for this vehicle.
This behaviour is unfortunately common: residents from nearby permit zones displacing their second or works vehicles into Hollingdean to avoid paying for permits in the area that they live. The result is that Hollingdean residents lose access to their own on-street parking, while non-residents enjoy unrestricted use of the area.
MT60 CPE is a clear example of how vehicles are being dumped on Hollingdean’s streets not for convenience or necessity, but simply because it is free. This adds unnecessary pressure to an area already overwhelmed by commuter traffic, visitor parking, and permit-zone overflow.
