MA64 YHZ
Red Peugeot 108
Residents report that MA64 YHZ is known a commuter vehicle which arrives most weekdays in the early morning and leaves again in the evening whilst the driver works elsewhere in Brighton.
It is understood that this vehicle has been using Hollingdean in this fashion for at least the past two years.
This Peugeot displays a valid permit for Zone N (Central Hove), which means that the driver is driving less than three miles across our city every day, just to leave their car in Hollingdean (whilst there are innumerous public transport options which would achieve the same journey in a similar period of time).
Residents also report that the owner of this vehicle is regularly seen returning to the parked car during the day, sitting in it for extended periods of time, with the engine running whilst they scroll their phone. This means that the car chugs away, causing unnecessary noise, whilst contributing yet further to the poor air quality issues Hollingdean faces.
This use of Hollingdean for 'free' parking in this way is incredibly common, with quite literally hundreds of vehciles arriving in Holingdean to use our streets like this every day. Aside from the obvious issues with driving less than three miles as this owner does, this constant use of our streets for free parking by non-residents not only causes massive congestion in the areas pressed up against Fiveways, but also contributes to more noise, pollution, and traffic for the residents who actually live here.
There is no excuse for this outside of sheer selfishness and laziness.
