• Hollingdean residents report that this Kia appears to belong to a visitor to a resident in one of the adjoining parking permit zones, often seen arriving on a Friday afternoon, the driver then walking off towards Fiveways, and the vehicle left on our streets for at least the weekend, and often several days further.

• Particularly frustrating for the residents of Hollingbury Crescent, this driver manages to time their arrival around the time that the daily commuters are leaving, meaning it is almost always found in the same position at the very top of the road - as close as the driver is able to achieve to Fiveways.

• There have been a number of reports (and photographs) suggesting that the driver is often not particularly considerate about their parking, leaving their car some distance in off the parking bays, cutting what would otherwise be space for two cars in half.

• Photographs provided in July demonstrate this. At that point, the car did not move for nearly a week, reducing available parking for local residents yet further.

• It goes without saying that it is the responsibility of the resident that this vehicle's owner is visiting to provide them with visitor permits. As is so often the case - however - these same residents chose to save themselves a couple of pounds a day, and send their visitors to park on our streets instead. This comes down to nothing more than sheer selfishness.

• Aside from the most obvious issues that non-residents using our streets for 'free' parking like this causes (ie: lack of availabe parking for actual local residents and their own visitors), this is one of quite literally hundreds of cars all doing the same thing. This leads to congestion, noise, and pollution for the people who live here, none of which would be necessary if these same car owners (or the people that they are visiting) took responsibility for their own vehicles.
