HJ12 KVX
White Vauxhall Agila
This little white Vauxhall is regularly found parked on the junction of Hollingdean Terrace and Roedale Road, an area that already suffers from congestion due to the local depot and poor visibility.
As shown in the photographs, the vehicle is left positioned so that it juts out into the road from the corner, restricting sightlines for both drivers and pedestrians, and blocking pedestrians from crossing the road.
This is a particularly busy spot and a key walking route for families heading to and from the local primary school, making this particular sort of parking both inconsiderate and dangerous.
What makes the situation worse is that this junction sits just a few metres from where BV08 LPO, a white Mini, is routinely left hanging over the pavement at the other end of the same short stretch of road. Together, these two vehicles effectively book-end the street with obstructions, making it dangerous for both vehicles and pedestrians to pass safely.
Residents report that HJ12 KVX is left in this position almost every day and for extended periods, with no apparent regard for the impact on safety or the inconvenience caused to others.
Parking like this not only reduces usable road space for our residents but forces pedestrians to navigate around hazards that simply should not be there. It is yet another example of thoughtless parking behaviour creating daily hazards on Hollingdean’s streets by people who have no connection to the area.
