GY02 KYW

Blue Volkswagen Transporter

  • Many Hollingdean residents have raised concerns about GY02 KYW.

  • This camper van does not belong to a local resident: the camper has a Zone S resident permit in the window, which expired in April 2022. This tallies with the dates residents report that this vehicle began appearing parked here.

  • This Volkswagen has been kept in Hollingdean permanently ever since this permit expired, with the earliest resident report being in May 2022.

  • It is understood that this belongs to an individual who lives in the Hannover or Elm Grove area (several miles away) and has chosen to start storing their vehicle in Hollingdean rather than renew their parking permit for their home.

  • The owner has occasionally been seen returning to the vehicle on a bike.

  • This van is reported to move very rarely, often staying in one place in Hollingdean (using what little available parking there is for actual residents) for several weeks or months at a time, particularly over the winter months when it simply does not move at all.

  • Additionally, there have been several reports that this camper has a loud and modified exhaust, and the driver is not very adept at parking the vehicle. This has led to several disturbance complaints from local neighbours whilst the driver attempts to manoeuvre GY02 KYW. One described it as a "ten-minute constant revving and groaning as they see-sawed the van back and forth".
