GJ04 FKY
Black Nissan Micra
This black Nissan Micra is yet another example of a vehicle displaced from the neighbouring controlled parking zones into Hollingdean.
Believed to belong to a student living on Hollingbury Road (Zone G), GJ04 FKY is routinely dumped here rather than being parked outside the owner's actual residence.
Like so many others taking advantage of Hollingdean’s lack of parking restrictions, this vehicle is often left unmoved for weeks at a time. It occupies valuable space that could otherwise be used by residents who actually live in the area and need parking close to their homes.
Despite the relatively small size of this Micra, the problem it represents is not. The steady influx of cars from controlled zones into Hollingdean only exacerbates the already significant parking issues, leaving residents with fewer and fewer options. It is yet another case of non-residents offloading their parking needs onto a community already struggling with congestion.
With permit spaces readily available where this owner lives, there is no reason for this car to be stored here. Yet, much like many others, the owner has opted to use Hollingdean as a personal, long-term parking space rather than securing a permit for their actual address.
