Hollingdean Parking

DS02 LEF

Silver Audi TT

  • This ageing silver Audi TT recently appeared in Hollingdean, yet another non-resident vehicle quietly offloaded into the area after its parking permit expired.

  • This vehicle carries a now-expired resident permit for Zone N, which covers a large area of Hove. Despite being some distance away, the owner has chosen to relocate their car to Hollingdean rather than renew their permit or make suitable arrangements nearer to home. Since arriving, it has not moved once.

  • This is the exact same pattern seen countless times before: permit expires, vehicle is shifted to Hollingdean, and then left. It’s a simple case of displacement parking, where residents of other areas treat our neighbourhood as a free car park because it lacks the restrictions they no longer wish to pay for in their own neighbourhood.

  • DS02 LEF may have come from further afield than most, but the effect is the same: less space for actual Hollingdean residents, and one more car dumped indefinitely on our already congested streets.
