White Skoda Octavia
This diesel Skoda Octavia taxi does not belong to a Hollingdean resident but has been regularly stored here for long periods, seemingly whenever it is not in use.
Residents also report that the driver of this vehicle is the same person who owns RJ03 VTK, a green Ford Fusion, which has also been permanently stored in Hollingdean. He is regularly seen arriving in this Skoda before getting into the Ford and driving away again.
Despite living elsewhere, the owner has chosen to keep multiple vehicles in the area at the same time, placing additional pressure on already limited parking and leaving local residents struggling to find space near their homes.
When both vehicles are not present simultaneously, residents have repeatedly seen the driver deliberately manoeuvring one vehicle or the other in order to retain the same parking spaces. This behaviour has effectively allowed a single non-resident to monopolise parts of the street for their own personal use.
As of January 2024, this Skoda began displaying a valid resident permit for an adjoining controlled parking zone outside of Hollingdean. Despite this, the owner continued to park it here for extended periods, swapping it back and forth with the Ford Fusion, which did not have a valid permit and remained stored in Hollingdean.
In July 2025, residents noted that this Skoda Octavia stopped appearing altogether. This coincided exactly with the arrival of a grey Toyota C-HR taxi (YF22 FOC) with the same Brighton & Hove taxi licence number (322) and the same resident permit zone in the windscreen.
The disappearance of this vehicle did not reduce pressure on local parking. Instead, it marked a direct swap, with another taxi owned by the same driver taking its place in the same locations and continuing the same pattern of behaviour.
