BF67 PVL
Black Mercedes A Class
Every summer, Hollingdean sees an influx of non-resident vehicles that arrive and then barely move for months. BF67 PVL is one of them.
This black Mercedes has been photographed in the same area over more than two years summers, typically appearing at the start of the season and then sitting in-place until it quietly disappears again in September.
It does not belong to a local resident, nor is it visiting anyone here, the driver has been seen parking up and walking straight towards Fiveways, confirming that this is not simply an assumption but an observed pattern.
The most likely explanation is that the car belongs to a student son or daughter of a resident in the adjoining permit zone, returning home for the summer and choosing to dump their car in Hollingdean rather than obtaining a permit or using visitor permits for the address where they are staying.
The result is predictable: a space in Hollingdean is locked up for the entire summer, removed from use by those who live here, while the streets in the adjoining controlled zones remain free of the same burden. This adds to the seasonal congestion, traffic noise, and pollution in one of Hollingdean’s busiest corners.
The choice to leave this vehicle here is deliberate and inconsiderate. There are perfectly reasonable options available to the owner in their own area, but instead they have chosen to shift the inconvenience onto Hollingdean residents.
