Black Volkswagen Polo
This scruffy little black Volkswagen Polo is recognised by local residents as not belonging to anyone living in in the area.
It has been kept in and around our streets for many years, almost always parked as close as possible to Fiveways, before being dumped and then reappearing again elsewhere nearby.
Its most recent stint has been especially egregious. This car was left in Hollingdean on Hollingbury Crescent in October 2024 and has not moved once since.
Months later, it remains exactly where it was left, occupying space indefinitely and showing clear signs of neglect.
Residents are well used to seeing this Polo returned to Hollingdean whenever the owner no longer wants to keep it near their own home. What makes this period stand out is the sheer length of time it has been left unmoved, reinforcing the sense that it has simply been abandoned rather than parked temporarily.
This is another example of how Hollingdean is used as a dumping ground for unwanted vehicles by non-residents. One more space quietly removed from use, one more reminder to residents that their streets are being treated as somewhere other people can leave their belongings indefinitely and walk away from them.
